Pete Dressman and the Soul Unified Nation formed with its current members in 2006. Since then, they have performed in music venues throughout the south and midwest of the U.S. They have acquired a strong fan base performing live and the bands MySpace page has recorded over 40,000 plays over the last year. The band has scheduled appearances approximately 15-20 nights a month. Because of their ability to draw a large crowd, the band is consistently offered opportunities to perform at various venues and clubs, especially in the surrounding areas. Along with live performance exposure, Pete Dressman and the Soul Unified Nation have also been featured on a radio station in Indiana, as well as in Kentucky and Ohio. Pete Dressman was voted Favorite Solo Artist in a national online competition by MyNetworkTV, a Fox Network owned television station. The competition lasted two-three months and required people across the nation to vote for their favorite musicians. Pete became a semi-finalist after receiving over 8,000 votes and went on to the finals to win in the solo genre. His music will be featured on two of the MyNetworkTV national television shows. Pete has also toured with G. Love and Special Sauce and has opened up for national acts such as American Idol winner, Taylor Hicks, Tyrone Wells, Rock Star INXS runner up, Marty Casey and Lovehammer, and Jon McLaughlin. Petes music was chosen over many candidates to be featured by Northern Kentucky Universitys Radio, Television and Film Department for a student music video project. Pete has also appeared on a local talk show and performed while promoting a popular music festival.
Pete Dressman & the Soul United Nation – The Current
A Power Trio by any definition, Pete Dressman and the Soul Unified Union have been building a strong following since 2006, culminating in the release of their 2008 CD, The Current. The album basically is the sound of current Rock radio, only more consistently substantive and soulful. It’s like the Black Crowes on full blast, Pearl Jam loosening up a little bit. (MB)
